That being said, we thrive off of your ideas and suggestions! This music world is crazy and ever-evolving. I would say it is head-spinning. We look forward to making this a fall to remember!

Chiodos live at The House Cafe on Sat. May 30th!
Thanks to every one for coming out to the sold out Chiodos show at The House Cafe on Saturday. I couldn’t help but feel very nostalgic as I recalled memories of the very first Chiodos shows at The House on Fri. June 17th 2005. The band opened up a sold out show with Murder By Death and He Is Legend. Many other dates came and went at The House Cafe as the years passed. It has been a pleasure watching these very deserving gentlemen achieve great success. The guys in the band are sweethearts and a truly the supreme rulers of their genre. Much love and many kisses from the bearded gentlemen at Team Kickstand.

Alkaline Trio, Getting On The Business End Of A Deep Cut!
People, did you witness the unbridled chaos of this show? Last night was truly one for the ages and a night that many soon may not forget. Alkaline Trio rocked a sold out crowd at the lovely Chubby Rain House Of Tunes in the, also lovely, Poplar Grove portion of the, ever-so-lovely, state of Illinois. They played ‘Cringe’, for that I (this young writer) am very appreciative.
That being said, let’s get down to the business. Alot of people say, ‘John, I’m not one for probing…but I would be remiss were I not to ask you to tell to me, all that is, the splendor known as concert and event production. Ya know…the real stuff. The magic that goes on behind the scenes?’ Well, self, I will tell you. As a matter of fact, I do believe that we will begin a semi-regular blog entry entitled, ‘the down low w/ john (me)’.

Concert production is a delicate mixture of efficient time management and sheer mental know how. Here, production manager Pat Kelly and security brute Neil Hane show that they have the attitude and wherewithal to destroy some nice Chinese food. Behind them, local shock rockers ‘The Felix Culpa’ finish their sound check. Those characters…

Here, Alkaline Trio can be seen having a nice cookout. If you squint you can admire the delicate and well-planned partitioning of foiled vegetables and spiced meats upon the grill. When asked, ‘What you cookin’?', Alkaline Trio stage crew responded; ‘Burgers, with Blue Cheese stuffed in ‘em!’ to which I replied, ‘Very nice.’ We shared a laugh and then I crept to the cover of a garbage can and took this picture (above) with my phone.

Boy howdy, what a crazy Monday night in Palatine, IL. Your friendly neighborhood concert promoters, Team Kickstand, hosted a sold out event with GWAR at Durty Nellies in Palatine, IL. Thanks to all of you fine folks that made the trek from DeKalb. We are very sorry that we could not host this show at Otto’s as was originally the plan. Unfortunately, the show was a little too racy for our lovely DeKalb home. Maybe the city of DeKalb will be ready for GWAR in another 15 or 20 years.
Regardless, a crazy night was had by all. Patrick, our lovely production manager, can be seen here stocking some Jaeger in GWAR’s dressing room. Isn’t he a doll ladies? My favorite part of the day would probably have to be watching one of GWAR’s road crew as he prepared the fake-blood in the alley behind Durty Nellies.

MATT & KIM
w/ Best Fwends / Yea Big + Kid Static
Matt Johnson (guitar/vocals/keyboards) and Kim Schifino (drums/vocals) create the giddy pop stylings of Matt & Kim. The indie rock pair came together in 2004 in their native Brooklyn. Two years later, with spring shows alongside Meneguar, the tender-hearted twosome began recording their debut album. Their self-titled release followed on iHEARTCOMIX in fall 2006.
